The ladies were unbelievable and I appreciate their patience with me as this was a last minute show. Without having a set subject line i think we pushed through it and the info brought to the table was great. I really want to thank all the women disc golfers that came on the show and talked.
I did want to discuss further the part of getting advanced women to move up to pro. This seems like a sticking point for many women just because of the talent level of the top pros and also the money issue. As one guest mentioned that she may spend $150 a month or whatever to play advanced where that may double or triple to play pro. This alone is enough to discourage many to move up because you are probably not going to cash and if you did you would probably just be making your entry fees back. The thought on lowering the fees for the open women field is probably the best way to go for now. I agree that this could and probably would get more women to move to open. Any Thoughts?
Also, when there are not enough women players to make a division then to allow the women to cash in the intermediate or advanced men's division is also an excellent way to bring more women into the fold. I feel though that it may cause a backlash because you know there will be men that will complain that if the women can cash why not me? As much as I hate to say that and I would definitely not be one of them you know this issue will arise at some point. How do we get around that and what other ideas are there to make something like that work?
